Program:
Fredag 8 november:
“The Art of the Pause”
For alle nivåer – Open level
We always like to say to our students, if you think you are pausing too much, you are just starting to pause enough! Tango is a dance that encompasses the movements we do, do not do, and each moment in between. Pauses for us are one of our most useful tools in communicating and regulating energy in the milonga and in shows. Some questions we will answer in this workshop are: When are the best times to pause? What are the best ways to suggest a pause? How can I better understand when it’s time to pause? And most importantly, what should I do when I’m pausing?
Lørdag 9 november:
For alle nivåer – Open level
For følgere: “Technique & Adornos for Followers with Kelly Lettieri”
Learn some tips, techniques, and secrets direct from Buenos Aires to unlock your creative
potential as you dance the follower’s role. During this workshop you will find opportunities to
convert basics such as your walk, ochos, and pauses into opportunities for greater connection
and self expression & will gain confidence in how you communicate in your dance!
For førere: “Balance and Coordination for Leaders with Alejandro Beron”
In the tango dance we have to pay attention to many things at the same time. Some of those
are muscular forces, posture, circulation on the dance floor, musicality and how you can create
spaces in which to dance with your partner. In this class, you will receive exercises that will
organize these topics in the dame and allow you to master them while you connect with your
partner.
“Planeos and Calesitas: Circular Movements”
Learn and refine everyone’s favorite showstopping movement, one of our favorite things about
Planeos and Calesitas is if they are well done, they can give a wow-factor while taking up very
little space in a crowded milonga! In this Workshop, we will define what is each partner’s role in planeos and calesitas, find musical opportunities and options so that we can easily incorporate them in our dance, enhance our technique, and discover different adornos so that we can create as we go!
“Boleos for Small Spaces”
Not all boleos are for all spaces, but it doesn’t mean that we have to eliminate boleos from our improvisational possibilities in the milonga! Expand your vocabulary of boleos and learn how to tailor them depending on the size of the space you’re in, finding greater ease in moments of musicality, creativity, and inspiration.
